Inrix and TCS Deliver Accurate Real-Time Traffic for Market-Leading Mobile Traffic Applications
TCS' New 'WAP Traffic 2.0' Provides Precise, User-Friendly Maps, Location Data

Today at CTIA Wireless IT 2006 Inrix and TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) (Nasdaq:TSYS) announced the enhancement of TCS mobile traffic applications by incorporation of Inrix's real-time traffic technology. TCS mobile traffic applications are currently available through leading carriers nationwide.

TCS provides BREW, Java, and WAP-based versions of its mobile phone applications including the popular Tele Atlas Traffic and Rand McNally Traffic. TCS also announced the availability of WAP Traffic 2.0, extending TCS' leadership in the traffic application market. WAP Traffic 2.0 incorporates a new user interface that makes it easier for users to pan and zoom traffic maps as well as to create custom routes with traffic-adjusted drive times.

"Our market research identified traffic accuracy, market coverage and alternate routes as three key components that are driving consumer adoption of mobile traffic applications," said Drew Morin, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for TCS. "We evaluated many sources of traffic information and found Inrix to have the most accurate traffic information and the broadest market coverage available."

Inrix offers the most comprehensive suite of traffic solutions available, including real-time and predictive speed information for 40 major U.S. metropolitan markets, traffic incident information for 138 metropolitan markets and historical road speed information for the entire U.S. road network.

"TCS mobile traffic applications such as the new WAP Traffic 2.0 enable consumers to get accurate directions easily and spend less time and money sitting in traffic," said Inrix President and CEO Bryan Mistele. "We are thrilled to partner with TCS to ensure consumers have access to the most accurate, up-to-date traffic information on the market."
